statement
Victor Toshkov is a self-taught illustrator and visual storyteller whose work aims to evoke emotion and wonder. With a strong passion for editorial and book cover design, he moves fluidly between digital media and fine art practice.
His artistic approach blends diverse techniques, most recently combining an illustrative sensibility with the language of minimal contemporary painting.
Influenced by duality, androgyny, and personal mythology, his work moves between chaos and structure, exploring themes of self-knowledge, the interplay of matter and emotion, the human body as an element, creation and a mortal vessel.
Through soft pastel tones and delicate linework, he seeks to challenge conventional representations of identity, body image and gender expression in a hyper-mediated world.
